Hi! We're the Singing Lions!

The Singing Lions is a performance ensemble that has been a part of Penn State's University Park campus for over 50 years. Originally founded under the School of Music as the "Penn State Pop Choir," the Singing Lions is now a student run organization. This 20-person group is composed of performers, musicians, and sound technicians!

The repertoire consists of music arranged for mixed voices, including jazz, Broadway, and pop. Along with choreographed dance routines, this unique ensemble provides exciting and energy-packed shows! The group performs several times throughout the year at a variety of venues around campus and the greater community. During the semester, The Singing Lions hold weekly rehearsals on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays to prepare for our biggest shows of each semester in early December and late April. Throughout the academic year, The Singing Lions also holds cabarets in which members are able to express their creative talents and abilities through songs of their choosing. Outside of performing, The Singing Lions are heavily involved in Penn State’s IFC / Panhellenic Dance Marathon (THON), and currently support three THON families, the Barnetts, the Bomboys, and the Broadwaters.

The Singing Lions can also be seen outside every Saturday singing at tailgates for PSU home football games. This group loves to perform, but most of all we pride ourselves on being a family for eachother.
